Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art and Street Culture is the catalog of the exhibition, curated by Aaron Rose and Christian Strike, held at the Cincinnati's Contemporary Arts Center (March 13-May 23, 2004), at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts of San Francisco (July 17-October 3, 2004) and at the Orange County Museum of Art of Newport Beach (February 5-May 8, 2005).
This catalog of this show offers a comprehensive view of the work of Aaron Rose, the former owner of Alleged Gallery in New York where he showed artists like Barry McGee, Margaret Kilgallen, Steven "Espo" Powers, Chris Johanson, Harmony Korine and Shepard Fairey, next to artists like Thomas Campbell, Ed Templeton, Phil Frost and Clare E. Rojas. This is why this book sounds like the portrait of one of the most refreshing generation of American artists associated by a strong sense of DIY (Do-It-Yourself) ethic and by the same artistic references: Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Robert Crumb, Raymond Pettibon and Larry Clark.

This hardcover copy, quite in perfect condition, is one of the few signed by the artists and organizers that were at the opening of the exhibition in 2004: Kaws, Aaron Rose, Cheryl Dunn, Terry Richardson, Mike Mills, Tobin Yelland,  Christian Strike, Ivory Serra.
