Since 2005, Vincent Rosenblatt has been devoting sleepless nights to funk parties, immersed in the body to body contact with the funkeiros. Rio baile funk attempts to preserve the fragile memory of these encounters, to represent the energy, gestures and desires of a Carioca youth at the beginning of the 21st century.

Carioca funk is a display of rhythm, rituals, territories and identities, and the work is a back and forth between trying to capture collective movements and individual details: fungal bodies as manifestos of freedom of expression.

In recent years, as the repression of balls has increased, a generation of young black producers has reinvented Carioca nights. The "black parties" - Batekoo, Yolo Love Party and others - expanded the funkeira revolution. In them, the celebration of identity and diversity, without discrimination, creates safe time-spaces to live and dream.
