"I came to the Wanhua district with my camera and wanted to take some pictures.
In the park I saw a security guard waking up a man, I missed the best opportunity to take a picture. This man woke up and saw me trying to take a picture. He suddenly asked me in a mix of English and Chinese, "Hey man, do you have any amphetamines?". I thought to myself "that guy is just so funny" and, by the end of the night, I was meeting my friends at a bar in the East End, not sure if I wanted to have fun or take pictures, but let's not stay home.
Side Effects of the City is the second book by Taiwan photographer Yu Chang, mostly depicting people from Taiwan, strange people on the road, and also interesting events that happened when we went out with friends.
