250 pages Photographs by François Prost 23 x 14 cm Language: English, French Hardback Publisher: Fisheye Livre 2021
In 2019, François Prost traveled across America. Instead of visiting national parks or exploring major cities, he turned his camera toward strip clubs, from Miami to Los Angeles—captured in broad daylight.
The resulting series, Gentlemen’s Club, explores American culture and urban planning in a single gesture. Shot from a medium distance, the 200 photographs highlight the stark geometry of roadside American architecture and reflect dominant views on gender and sexuality.
The project features several hundred images and continues a series of works focused on nightlife facades, such as After Party (2011/23, France) and Love Hotel (2023, Tokyo).
