Catalog of the exhibition "Basquiat x Warhol, à quatre mains" presented at the Fondation Louis Vuitton from April 5th to August 28th 2023.

From 1984 to 1985, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) and Andy Warhol (1928-1987) produced approximately 160 paintings "four-handed", some of the greatest of their respective careers.

Basquiat admired Warhol as an elder, a key figure in the art world, the initiator of a new language and an original relationship to popular culture. In return, Warhol found in Basquiat a renewed interest in painting. With him, he had started to paint with a brush again. A true artistic dialogue of styles and forms was established between them.

In this book, which accompanies the exhibition "Basquiat × Warhol, à quatre mains" presented in Paris, are grouped more than one hundred paintings signed jointly by the two artists as well as individual works, and works of other personalities such as Michael Halsband, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf,... , in order to restore the art scene of downtown New York of the 1980s.
