Genesis Lacrima, « that generates tears », is a book designed as a mirror, opposing two visions of social conflicts in the streets of Paris.
Émilie Royer delivers an analog color report on demonstrators of all kinds, while Arnaud Sommier on his part investigates police forces actions, and documents them on black and white film.
The two sides of the book confront each other : each page in color is designed as an answer to a black and white page to reveal the two sides of a violent event. For both authors, it is essential to understand the moral and political destruction of society through getting as close as possible to the conflict, and to document it with the help of an analog camera.
