Very Nearly Almost is a UK-based independent magazine printed quarterly which features interviews with some of the world’s best urban artists, illustrators and photographers. VNA tracks everything from the wheatpastes, paint and stencils out there on the streets through to gallery shows and events that bring together artists from around the world.
The twenty-first issue is pretty special being the first to have a female as a cover artist; and who better to take this highly coveted position than the queen of street art herself Miss Van. Her beautiful hand-painted “poupées” and vivid sexual creatures have been capturing the hearts of art lovers and for years and after a brief hiatus from working on the streets, she’s back in full force. We caught up with her to delve a little deeper into the mind of a lady who has blazed a trail through this macho graffiti world.
This issue as interviews from the crew member Rone, master Joe Fenton and NoseGo. We also have pearls of wisdom from Inkie, photographer Alex Fakso and Canadian artist Johnny Crap who also took the time to design our latest subscriber t-shirt. We caught up with a few other influential ladies including Mad-C and Amanda Marie, as well as illustrative duo Wurstbande from Berlin. There’s also something a bit different from another duo, husband and wife Dal & Faith47 who chose to interview each other. You can also find interviews with queen of crochet, Olek, and the brilliant Nicolas le Borgne, a.k.a Odö – as well as a look at what’s been going on in London, Detroit and Japan.
