Since his first solo exhibition in 1992, Alain Bublex has been constantly reinventing the idea of the journey, placing photography at the heart of his focus on the visual arts and blending it with drawing. But more than travel and movement, it is the landscape itself that shines through as his main subject.
The United States has held a special place in this development. Having gone in search of Glooscap (an imaginary city that exists only through its archives), he travelled the North American continent, crossing it from East to West, North to South, returning convinced that the landscapes played a key role in the formation of the American nation.
