The world of art has long been a space where various forms of expression are celebrated, yet Writing, particularly in its more informal or street art forms, often struggles for acknowledgment. Writing carries deep cultural and social significance. It tells stories, conveys messages, and reflects the voices of communities often marginalized in mainstream discourse. However, the art system frequently prioritizes aesthetics over context, leading to a dismissal of writing as mere vandalism rather than a legitimate form of artistic expression. This lack of recognition not only undermines the artists who pour their creativity into their work but also deprives society of the rich narratives and perspectives that writing can offer.

Through a series of notes published in this fanzine as a companion to the exhibition PALeontologia, Horfee, Saeio, Conie (Paris 2013 – 2017) held from July to September 2024 at SpazioC21, Andrea Ceresa analyzes how essential it is to challenge these perceptions and support a more inclusive understanding of this art that celebrates the power of words alongside visual images; as the artists that with their research have been recognized by the fine art world and have been a reference to a generation of young artists around the world.
