Writing the Memory of the City assembles 15 Berlin based artist with a mutual background in graffiti. Teaming up with Markus Mai, the author of previous book Writing. Urban Calligraphy and Beyond, and Thomas Wiczak, we digged deeper into the works and thoughts of the participating artists.
This book can be seen as a reaction and further development of the Writing-book. After meeting with the artists and going through tons of material, we set up a presentation that aimed to document every artists´ individual development originating from what is widely known as street art and graffiti.
Berlin has long been the capital of European graffiti. Here, theory and practice have met in rare fusion, driving development forwards.
