Kairos is a French artist who works in the borderline area between graffiti, typography, and photography. For his work, he ventures into the Rhône Valley south of Lyon, where he paints freight trains in the dusk of night. With his almost Arabic typography and atmospheric photography, Kairos offers a unique vision of contemporary graffiti.
FEU consists of 124 pages and is the sequel to Jaune Pétrole, published by the Éditions Terrain Vague in 2021. Featuring an introduction written by Christian Omodeo (Le Grand Jeu, Paris) and a poem by GUES (member of the infamous PAL crew) which complements the FEU theme. There are 96 pages showcasing photography of freight trains and their surroundings, including a series of Polaroid photos that capture the atmosphere of the train yard. Furthermore, 24 pages of typographic sketches that were used on-site. For this section the book contains a second type of paper to match the feel of the original sketches.
